In a wellness world constantly telling you to “just try harder” and “do better”, I want to tell you that you’re doing enough.

My Approach

Nutrition can provide your body with the building blocks it needs to heal both physically and mentally after a tough season. But while some symptoms of depression and anxiety can be related to nutrient deficiencies, it's often not realistic to ignore the complex variables that lead to mental illness such as genetics, trauma, environmental factors, social factors, and more. Healthy eating may not resolve these other factors directly, but it will certainly help you feel strong, clear headed, and more comfortable in your body while you do the hard work of processing and working through your unique situation.

I enjoy educating and empowering individuals with nutrition knowledge and tools that will get them through the ups and downs of life. My approach to nutrition is centered on helping you create an environment where your body feels safe. We set goals and change health behaviors in a strategic way so that you’re building self-trust and confidence each step of the way. We trade calorie counting for hunger cues, rigid food rules for educated choices, and stress around body image with more self compassion.

In my experience, the only way out of a hard season is through it; and the only way through it is to have the mental and physical strength to keep fighting. My goal is to help you rebuild your relationship with food and discover the non-negotiable health habits that empower you to feel your best each day. Your happiness and health is important, and you deserve to have tools that help you succeed. Before you know it you’ll have a strong foundation of energy and confidence that will help you build a life worth living!

This is a safe space to talk about food, and feelings!

Let’s skip the small talk and chat about your dreams for health and life.

My Story & My Why

In my twenties I experienced a couple of intense seasons of depression and anxiety.

I know what it's like to feel like your body and mind are on two separate teams.

To feel ashamed that you are not able to take better care of yourself, and to feel uncertain when you wake up day after day fighting an internal battle that no one else seems to see or understand.

I felt the concern when seemingly random health issues started snowballing from the stress and lifestyle changes.

I read the self help books, went to therapy, went on and off medication, and still felt frustrated with the state of my health.

While I was seeing some progress mentally, I still felt stuck physically and I knew it was holding me back.

There were so many things to work on each day that would help me feel better, but I needed the energy and strength in order to implement them.

I needed something that wouldn’t add stress and wouldn’t make me feel bad about myself.

I couldn’t find nutrition resources that took a compassionate yet strategic approach to depression and anxiety, so I made my own plan and started to see improvements in my self-talk, physical health markers, and therapy outcomes.

Now my signature nutrition program, The Nurture Method, combines my professional education in public health and nutrition with my personal experiences of mental illness to help you rebuild your relationship with food so you can get from a place of stress and shame to a place of strength and self-love.

I currently live in the north shore of Massachusetts with my husband and our great dane. In my free time I like going for walks, baking, doing puzzles, appreciating nature, trying out new coffee shops and restaurants, and planning travel adventures (near and far) with people I love.
